Whistleblowing
Blow the whistle. Talk it through. Leave nothing behind.
Dispose.chat gives whistleblowers a private, end-to-end encrypted chat they can send to a company, regulator, lawyer, or journalist with one link. No account, no email, no phone number. Just a live conversation that deletes itself.
Start a secure report chatWhy whistleblowers use Dispose.chat
No identity to give up
You never create an account or hand over an email address or phone number. Pick any display name for the room, or none at all.
Encrypted end to end
Your report is encrypted on your device. The key travels only inside the link you share, so Dispose.chat cannot read what you write.
A conversation, not a drop box
Investigators can ask follow-up questions and you can answer in real time, which makes a report clearer and more actionable.
Nothing left lying around
Set the room to expire after 15 minutes to 7 days of inactivity. When it expires, or when either side destroys it, every message is permanently deleted.
If you are reporting
How to blow the whistle safely
Use a device and network you control
Do not use a work laptop, work phone, or office Wi-Fi. A personal phone on mobile data, a VPN, or Tor Browser keeps your employer’s systems out of it.
Create a room
Open Dispose.chat and create a room. Choose an expiry that gives the other side time to reply, such as 24 hours or 7 days. Use a display name that does not identify you.
Send the link to the right people
Paste the invite link into the company’s ethics or compliance inbox, speak-up form, or hotline, or send it to a regulator, lawyer, or journalist. Anyone with the full link can join, so send it only to the recipient you intend.
Talk live, then destroy the room
Answer questions as they come in. When the conversation is over, destroy the room so nothing remains.
If you received a link
For companies, compliance, and ethics teams
Reporters are more likely to come forward, and to answer your follow-up questions, when they do not have to give up their identity first. Add a line to your speak-up policy saying you accept Dispose.chat links, and you can hold a live, encrypted follow-up with any reporter.
Open the link you received
Open it in the app or any browser. No account, no installation, no setup on your side.
Ask, clarify, and record what you need
Chat live with the reporter. Record what your investigation requires in your own case system, following your policies and the law that applies to you.
Close the loop
Let the reporter know what happens next, then either side can destroy the room.
Know the limits
- Anyone with the full invite link can join while the room is open. Send it only to your intended recipient.
- Our server sees your IP address while you are connected. Use a network you trust, a VPN, or Tor if that matters.
- People in the room can screenshot or copy what you send. Encryption cannot stop that.
- A compromised device, such as a managed work laptop, can see what is on its screen.
FAQ
Whistleblowing questions
How do I blow the whistle with Dispose.chat?
Create a room on a personal device, then send the invite link to the company’s ethics or compliance team, a regulator, a lawyer, or a journalist. When they open it, you can talk live over an end-to-end encrypted chat. The room deletes itself after inactivity, or either of you can destroy it at any time.
Is it anonymous?
Dispose.chat does not ask for your name, email, phone number, or an account. Like any website, our server can see the IP address you connect from while you are online, and anything you write could identify you. For stronger protection, connect from a network not linked to your employer, such as mobile data, a VPN, or Tor, and avoid details only you would know until you trust the recipient.
Can my company or Dispose.chat read the messages?
Only people who hold the full invite link can read the room. Messages are encrypted on the device and Dispose.chat stores only ciphertext. Anyone you invite can read and copy what you send, so share the link only with the recipient you intend.
Can a company use Dispose.chat to receive reports?
Yes. Compliance, HR, and ethics teams can tell employees and suppliers that they accept Dispose.chat links through their speak-up channel. The team opens a reporter’s link and holds a live, encrypted follow-up conversation without asking the reporter to create an account.
Does Dispose.chat replace a formal whistleblowing system?
No. Dispose.chat is a secure, temporary conversation channel, not a case-management system, and it does not store reports long term. Organizations should keep their own records as their legal obligations require. This page is not legal advice; check the whistleblower protections that apply to you.
What happens to the conversation afterwards?
When the room reaches its inactivity limit or someone destroys it, the messages are permanently deleted from our servers and wiped from devices running Dispose.chat. Copies a participant saved or screenshotted are outside our control.
