Private chat
A private chat that leaves nothing behind
Most messengers keep your conversations forever, tied to your phone number. Dispose.chat is the opposite: an encrypted chat room that exists only as long as you need it.
End-to-end encrypted
Messages are encrypted on your device with XChaCha20-Poly1305 before they are sent. The key lives only in the invite link, so our server relays ciphertext it cannot read.
No account. No phone number.
Nothing to sign up for. No email, phone number, or contact list is ever asked for, so there is no profile to tie a conversation back to you.
Chats that delete themselves
Pick 15 minutes, 1 hour, 6 hours, 24 hours, or 7 days of inactivity. When the timer runs out, the room and every message are permanently deleted. Anyone in the room can destroy it sooner.
Live, in real time
Typing indicators, read receipts, and instant delivery make it a real conversation, not a drop box. Up to 8 people per room.
How it works
Three steps. No sign-up.
Create a room
Open the app, choose how long the room should live after the last message, and pick an optional display name.
Share the link
Send the invite link or QR code over any channel. The secret key is in the part after the #, which browsers never send to a server.
Talk, then it is gone
Chat live. When the room expires or someone destroys it, the messages are erased from our servers and from your device.
For whistleblowers
Report wrongdoing and talk it through, live
Email leaves a trail and hotlines are one-way. With Dispose.chat, a whistleblower creates an encrypted room and sends the link to a company's compliance or ethics team, a regulator, a lawyer, or a journalist. Both sides can ask follow-up questions in real time, and the conversation deletes itself when it is done.
FAQ
Questions, answered
What is Dispose.chat?
Dispose.chat is a free private chat app for iOS, Android, and the web. You create an end-to-end encrypted chat room, share the link, talk live, and the room deletes itself after a period of inactivity.
Do I need an account, email, or phone number?
No. Dispose.chat never asks for an account, email address, phone number, or contacts. Opening the link is all anyone needs to join.
Can Dispose.chat read my messages?
No. Messages are encrypted on your device and the decryption key is only in the invite link fragment, which is never sent to our servers. We store only ciphertext, and only until the room expires.
Can I use Dispose.chat to blow the whistle?
Yes. A whistleblower can create a room, send the invite link to a company, regulator, lawyer, or journalist, and have a live, encrypted conversation without creating an account. See our whistleblowing guide for how to do it safely.
Is Dispose.chat anonymous?
Dispose.chat collects no identity: no account, name, email, or phone number. Like any internet service, the server can see your IP address while you are connected. If your network could identify you, use a network you trust, a VPN, or Tor.
What happens when a chat expires?
The room, its messages, and its sessions are permanently deleted from our servers, and your device wipes its local copy and keys. There is no backup and no way to recover it.
