Private chat
The private chat that forgets.
Dispose.chat is a free, end-to-end encrypted chat with no sign-up. Create a room, share the link, talk live, and the whole conversation deletes itself when you are done.
Start a private chatPrivate by design, not by setting
Encrypted before it leaves your device
Every message is sealed with XChaCha20-Poly1305 authenticated encryption on your device. Tampered messages fail to decrypt rather than showing altered text.
The key never reaches us
The room key travels in the link fragment after the #. Browsers do not send fragments to servers, so Dispose.chat stores only ciphertext it cannot read.
No account, ever
No sign-up, email, phone number, or contact upload. Each room has its own display names, so a chat cannot be linked back to a profile.
Expiry enforced by the server
Rooms expire after 15 minutes, 1 hour, 6 hours, 24 hours, or 7 days of inactivity. The server then deletes the room, its messages, and its sessions.
Works everywhere
Use the iOS or Android app, or open the web app in any modern browser. Invite links open whichever one the other person has.
Notifications that reveal nothing
Push notifications only say "New message". Names and message text never go through Apple, Google, or browser push services.
What people use it for
- Whistleblowing and confidential reports. Send a company, regulator, or journalist a link and talk live. See the guide.
- Sharing something sensitive once. A password, an address, a medical detail that should not sit in a chat history for years.
- Talking to someone without swapping numbers. Buyers and sellers, landlords, new contacts, support conversations.
- Off-the-record conversations. Sources, legal and HR matters, or anything you would rather not keep.
FAQ
Private chat questions
How do I start a private chat without signing up?
Open Dispose.chat, tap Create, choose how long the room should last, and share the invite link. The other person opens the link and you are talking. No account or phone number is needed.
Is Dispose.chat end-to-end encrypted?
Yes. Messages and display names are encrypted on your device with XChaCha20-Poly1305 using a 256-bit room key that only exists in the invite link. The server only ever handles ciphertext.
How long do chats last?
You choose 15 minutes, 1 hour, 6 hours, 24 hours, or 7 days. The timer resets with each new message. When it runs out, the room is permanently deleted. Any participant can also destroy the room instantly.
How many people can join a private chat?
Up to 8 people can be in a room at once.
Is Dispose.chat free?
Yes. Dispose.chat is free to use on iOS, Android, and the web.
